Harold Wibbels

Harold E. Wibbels, 90, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Harold was a VFW member-at-large and a member of Masonic Falls Lodge #749 in Clarksville. An avid golfer, he was a member of the U.S. Golf Association (USGA) and had worked at Wooded View Golf Course after retirement from the insurance industry.

Harold was born on November 16, 1920 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Harold J. and Oda Mae (North) Wibbels. He is preceded in death by his wife, Flora M. (Porter) Wibbels; brother, Lester Wibbels; and sister, Farrell Shepherd.

He is survived by his sons, John D. Wibbels (Diane) of Clarksville, Ron E. Wibbels (Linda) of Floyds Knobs, Jack Wibbels II (Carol) of Charlestown, Indiana, and Gary Wibbels; sister-in-law, Zola (McFelia) Wibbels of Louisville; grandchildren, Debbie Linderman (Chris), Mikki Heitz (Steve), Heather Wibbels (Brook White), Andy Wibbels, and Daniel Wibbels (Heather); and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) followed by the Funeral Service at 7 PM on Friday. Burial will take place at Bagdad Cemetery in Bagdad, Kentucky on Saturday at 11 AM.
