Gwyn Ellen Houston

October 9, 1959 — May 23, 2022

Gwyn Ellen Houston was born on October 9,1959, to the late John French Houston Sr. and Ellen Rose Yarbrough. She was the oldest of the twin girls. Gwyn fell asleep in death on May 23,2022. She was preceded in death by her son Kai La'Ron Houston, twin siblings: Wanda Angela and Wayne Angelo Houston, brother-in-law Prentice Robin Berkley, and her best friend Theresa Ann Freeman.

Gwyn graduated from duPont Manual High School in May of 1977. From there she went on to work in a nursing facility caring for people. But her true love came when she dedicated herself to Jehovah God on July 9,1977, by water baptism. Because of her love for Jehovah, her love for people grew. Gwyn was a loving Mother and Granny. Her kids knew that she loved them by her words and actions. Her smile was so very contagious that all you could do was smile back and listen. That is also how she would talk to people about Jehovah and His promises, with a smile. Gwyn has helped a lot of people over the years just by taking the time to listen to them and sharing thoughts from God's word the Bible.

Gwyn also used her skills at KFC at Poplar Level Rd as an Asst. Manager. She worked there for 10 years. All of the friends knew that was the BEST spot to stop for lunch when we took our Field Service Break. But when Gwyn was diagnosed with MS(multiple sclerosis) that did not take away her smile, she said: "Jehovah got me, He will fix this." So, in 2016 when she went into the nursing facility, she looked at it as her own territory. When anyone came into her room, Gwyn talked to them about Jehovah. She offered literature and even a Bible Study. When the friends would come by to encourage her, they always left more encouraged and with a smile. Gwyn was a truly devoted, faithful servant of Jehovah God. She will be truly missed by family and friends. We look for forward to seeing her in Paradise. Sleep well my Twin Sister!

Gwyn is survived by her children: Michael D'Angelo Houston, Trezsa Jai-Lynn Ellen Houston, John Reed (adopted child), Brothers: John French Houston Jr.(Roslyn) , Mark Anothony Houston, Sisters: Lynn Houston-Berkley, Gina Stephanie Houston. Nieces; Natasha Angela-Lynn Berkley, Jazmin Anthonie Houston. Grandchild; Anita Nasha Makayla Houston, and a host of Cousins and Friends.
