Gregory H. Monroe, 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022.
He was born on January 11, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Hallie and Myrl (Miller) Monroe.
Greg served our country while enlisted in the Army National Guard. His family and his country was everything to him; he was exceptionally proud of his military service. Affectionately known as the "traveling man"; Greg provided for his family while truck driving for over 30 years. During his lifetime he enjoyed fishing, classic rock music and motorcycles. He leaves of legacy of hard work and gratitude that will be carried on through his family.
Greg is survived by his loving partner Theresa Monroe, his children, Jennifer Monroe Baize and Gregory Brian Monroe, grandchildren, Tyler, Logan and Hope Baize, siblings, Susan Locke, Karen Lewis, Mark Monroe, Sr and Ann Belcher, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00pm - 8:00pm on Thursday, December 1st at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Hwy). A service celebrating Greg's life will take place at 6:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Greg will be laid to rest with military honors on Friday, December 2nd at 11:00 am at Louisville Memorial Gardens West ( 4400 Dixie Hwy).
