Gregory Eugene Albers, age 77, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Born on July 15, 1947, he was the son of the late Eugene and Virginia (Byers) Albers.

Greg proudly served in the Indiana National Guard for 16 years, demonstrating his commitment to his country and community. He was the owner of Gray Disposal, which he later sold to Waste Management. Additionally, Greg had a successful career as a realtor and was actively involved in Harrison County politics, contributing his time and energy to the 4-H Fair Board.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Greg had a passion for racing and building classic cars. He also found great pleasure in working on his farm and listening to a diverse range of music.

Greg is survived by his children, Cindy Mikel (Larry) and Brian Albers; steps-children, Brittany, Joshua, and Troy; grandchildren, Leif, Jack, Aryah, Emma, Rachel, Brogan, Killian, and Liam; and siblings, Judy, Steve, Kevin, John, Mike, Jeff, and Deborah. He leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who will also cherish his memory.

In accordance with Greg's wishes, he will be cremated. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Floyd County Animal Rescue League (PO Box 241, New Albany, IN  47151).
