Gregory William Calvin, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, (formally of Phoenix, AZ) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
He was born on September 8, 1950 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to the late William and Evangeline (Pocta) Calvin. He is preceded in death by his infant sister, Carol Ann and brothers, Scott and Mark.
Greg was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed gold panning in Arizona, mountain climbing, hunting and camping. He had a strong work ethic and built numerous beautiful homes in Minnesota & Arizona throughout his life. Greg was an early riser and enjoyed meeting his buddies at Denny's for coffee every morning. His kind hearted personality won him many friends. He loved to prank his children and grandchildren and was a huge lover of The Grinch. He was a former Boy Scout & member of the Knights of Columbus.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joyce Marie (Klein) Calvin, son, Michael Calvin (Carey), daughter, Jennifer Panahi (Ali) and three grandchildren, Sydney, Mila and Allie. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers Linda Rivard, Susie (Dave) Pawlanty, Lisa (Larry) Michels, Bill, David (Kris) and Patrick (Jackie) Calvin.
Per Greg's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family requests that contributions in Gregory's memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
