Gordon Wayne Christensen, 73, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on June 14, 2012. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and American Legion Post 42 in Floyds Knobs.
Wayne was born on October 8, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William G. and Nellie H. (Shoupe) Christensen.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Randi K. (Hvattum) Christensen; son, Brian Christensen (Deanna) of Floyds Knobs; daughters, Janelle Christensen Sumner (Brian) of Centennial, Colorado, and Lisa Holifield of Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Georgia Edwards (Paul) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Lia and Riley Christensen, Abby and Grant Sumner, and Hannah Holifield.
His Memorial Visitation will be 4 to 7 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Memorial Service following at 7 PM at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Wayne's wishes and a burial will be held at a later time.
