Glennie And Mark Carby

May 21, 1939 — June 16, 2022

Glennie L. Carby and his son, Mark Carby returned to their heavenly home this week. Mark passed away peacefully with his loving daughter, Heather Carby Bryan, at his side on the evening of June 15th. He was 61. Glennie also passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones the next day, June 16th. He was 83.

Glennie was youngest of the children born to the late Dewey and Agatha Ward Carby on May 21, 1939, in Millerstown, Kentucky. Glennie met and married the love of his life, Frances Hornback Carby, in 1958, and they moved to the Shelby County/Louisville area to build their life and start their own family. They raised three amazing sons, built beautiful homes for both their family and for other families as the proprietors of Glenn Carby Homes. Glennie was a member of Southeast Christian Church and loved his church family dearly.

Mark was the middle child of Glennie and Frances Carby. He was a talented carpenter and was blessed with a large circle of loving family and friends. The centers of his circle were his daughter, Heather and his grand-daughter, Kayley. He loved them both like only a father/grandfather can.

Glennie is survived by his sons Dale (Mary Kay) and Kevin, his grand-daughters, Leslie, Heather and Leah (Michael Jones), his great granddaughters Kayley and Lilly Kay and his great grandson, Hudson, and his sister, Betty Carby. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances, two sisters, Anita Nicholson and Sybol Kiper and two brothers, Randol Carby and Gene Carby.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Heather Carby Bryan, and his granddaughter, Kayley.

Both of them leave behind a slew of nieces, nephews, cousins and more friends than anyone could imagine, and all will miss them immensely.
