Gladys Marie Patterson, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
She was born on March 3, 1929 in Brownsville, Kentucky. The daughter of the late Ethel Cora Belle Alford and Earl Earnest Alford. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Lemuel Patterson, grandson, David M. Patterson, Jr., and brothers James Alford, Roy Franklin Alford, Sr., Earl Ray Alford, Earl Alford Jr., and Robert Alford.
Gladys is survived by her loving family. Children: Linda (Houston) Cockrell, Judy (Bob) Meany, Jerome (Debi) Patterson, Kathy (Sam) Yerrid, Cara (Mickey) Short, Stephen (Mary Ann) Patterson, Angela (Paul) Marks, and David (Michelle) Patterson. Grandchildren: Jamie (Angie) Elmore, Sheri (Sean) Sivori, Kimberly (Sean) Crago, Kelsey Patterson, Christopher (Nana) Ferguson, Nicholas Ferguson, Anna Yerrid, Heather Yerrid, Jason Heybach, Stacy Heybach, Kevin Zeller, Steve Patterson, Jr., Tiffany Patterson, Jessica Basham, Kayla Patterson, Tony Reed, Nicki Reed, Amy Greer, Melissa Patterson, and Amber Patterson. Great-Grandchildren: Connor, Isabel, Samantha (TJ), Nicolas, Cora Belle, Violet, Alex, Logan Y., Layla, Lilyana, Jackson, Jacob, Jon, Evie, Leighla, KJ, Kayedenz, Anthony, Skyler, Stephen, Wyatt, Bryson, Landon, James, Ryleigh, D'Angelo, Maikel, Taylor, Madison, Kaidon, Brianna, Kendrick, Logan G., MacKenzie, Kaileigh, Karsyn, Kaleb, Kash, Sophia, and Amelia. Brothers: Stoy Alford, Melvin (Brenda) Alford, Roger (Jocelyne) Alford, Larry (Bonnie) Alford. Sisters: Flossie Jones, Juanita (Billy) Lawrence. Sister-In-Laws: Dorine Reece and Carolyn Alford as well as a host of family and friends to cherish her memory.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 18th, 2020 at Valley View Christian Church (8911 3rd St. Rd Louisville, KY 40272) with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
