Mrs. Gladys Helen Pruitt, age 95 of Louisville passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. A long-time resident of Lyndon and a devoted Christian woman, Mrs. Pruitt and her husband Curtis was a founder of the Lyndon Independent Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, and 9 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her children, Loretta Carroll, Gerald Pruitt, Wanda Johnson and Glinda Arnett; 15 grandchildren, Nicky (Missy), Billy (Kristy), Jimmy, Tracy, Tonya (Kelly), Debbie (David), Laura (Jerry), Dwayne, Troy (Crystal), Crystal (William), April (Brooks), Bobby (Marsha), Tony (Lisa), Kevin (Kelly) and Tamara (Greg); also surviving are 42 Great-grandchildren and 12 Great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Mrs. Pruitt's life will be 11:00 am Friday, February 25, 2011 at her church, 1628 Roosevelt Avenue in Lyndon with entombment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East, with the Pastor Kevin Housley officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 12-7pm, and after 9:30 am Friday until time of service. Memorials may be made to the church.
