Gilbert "Terry" Brawner

Gilbert "Terry" Brawner, of Louisville, Kentucky peacefully went "home" and into the arms of his Lord and Savior on February 3, 2023, at the age of 80 years old.
Terry was a graduate of Trinity High School, Class of 1960, where he was a proud member of the State Championship Golf team. He later served his country in the U.S. Air National Guard. Terry married his Wife Paulette on July 6, 1968, and they were happily married for 54 years. Terry was a Husband, Father, and Grandfather who lived his life putting his love for his family before anything. Terry spent most of his life working hard, protecting, loving, and leading his family. Terry was also very active in serving his community. He had a passion for Golf, running, and was a jack of all trades. Church and God were an important part of Terry's life, and he lived every day the best he could to live in the image of Christ. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church and lived his life following Jesus.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Doris Brawner, and his brother David Brawner. He's survived by his wife Paulette, his sons Scott (Debbie) Brawner, Jeff Brawner, and daughter Renee (Shane) Davis. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren: Caleb and Tori Brawner, Caden and Trace Seward, Lydia, Sarah, Dawson, and Adella Brawner.
Terry was known for his love for his family, his witty sense of humor, and his love for God. His family has organized a service to honor him and the legacy he left for so many. Visitation will be held on February 11, 2023 at NewComer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Dr. Louisville, Ky. Visitation will be from 12:00pm-3:00pm, with a short memorial service immediately following at 3:00 p.m.

Due to Terry's son's recent kidney transplant and doctors instructions, no flowers (due to bacteria) are requested and donations in Terry's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
