Gertrude Mae(Emely) Lenson

Gertrude Mae (Emely) Lenson, 85, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Floyds Knobs. Gertrude was a very independent woman that enjoyed shopping as well as spending time with her family.

Gertrude was born on April 30, 1928 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Ray and Alice M. (Walker) Emely. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Charles H. Lenson, Jr.; sisters, Anna Mae Kelly and Betty Herman.

She is survived by her children, Linda Eaton, Rick Lenson (Theresa); sister, Mary Graves; granddaughters, Jill Sluder (Derek), Brittany Mitchell; great grandchildren, Autumn Grant, Nate, Sean Sluder.; great-great grandsons, Xavier and Toby; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Thursday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
