Gertrude (Trudy) Margaret Cicardo passed away early Thursday morning, June 28, in Louisville, Kentucky. Trudy was born on December 7, 1919 in Wahpeton, North Dakota, to George and Ethel Anderson. On October 15, 1949, she married John Cicardo. Together, they operated a cattle farm in Jackson county for almost forty years and raised three sons. In 1988, they retired from farming and moved to Chester. Four years ago Trudy moved to Louisville, KY where her oldest son and his wife helped care for her during her final years.

She is survived by her husband, John Cicardo, of Chester, IL, her sons and their wives, Dave and Sharon Cicardo of Louisville, KY, Joe and Linda Cicardo of McKinney, TX and Jay and Loren Cicardo of Sugar Land, TX, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George (Sonny) Anderson, Jr.

Services will be Saturday, June 30, at the First Presbyterian Church in Chester. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 12:00 p.m. Her burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in DuQuoin.
