Gerard Celestine Renn Jr.

Gerard Celestine Renn Jr., passed away at his home on September 23, 2024, at the age of 63. He was born on May 26, 1961, in Louisville, Kentucky, and grew up to be a man of deep convictions, always guided by his faith and a profound appreciation for history and literature.

Gerard was a proud graduate of Floyd Central High School, where he developed a love for learning that would stay with him throughout his life. His passion for reading and history was matched by his dedication to his family, which he treasured above all else. He found great joy in spending quality time with his loved ones, cherishing each moment they had together.

He is survived by his loving siblings: Kathleen (Robert) Hunter, Lora (William) Votaw, Victoria Renn, and Michael (Leah) Renn. Gerard is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who were touched by his kindness and compassion. His legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Gerard was predeceased by his parents, Gerard and Josephine (Theiler) Renn, Sr. , as well as his brothers John B. Renn and Daniel J. Renn, and his sister Laura D. Renn. The absence of these family members has left a void, but their memories will forever hold a special place in Gerard’s heart.

Visitation services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. The first visitation will take place on September 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a second visitation on September 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on the same day, September 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Lanesville Protestant Cemetery in Lanesville, Indiana.

Gerard Celestine Renn Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed but will remain alive in the thoughts and memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
