Geraldine C. (Banet) "Gerry" Seewer, 78, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN.
Gerry was retired from M. Fine & Sons after many years of service. She was a member of Hobart Beach VFW Post 1693, American Legion Post #28, and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Gerry was affectionately known as "the card lady" because she always liked to send cards to the people she loved.
She was born on March 9, 1936 in New Albany, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin C. Seewer who died on July 5, 2007; father, George A. Banet; and sister, JoAnn Hauber.
She is survived by her sons, Douglas C. Seewer (Mary) and Donald M. Seewer; her daughter, Cheryl Money (David); mother, Catherine (Helm) Banet; siblings, Darlene Coney (Don), George Banet (Jean), David Banet (Barbara), Ronnie Banet (Brenda), & Ricky Banet; grandchildren, Josh Miller (Lauren), Amber Miller, Jenna Scott (Michael), & Zachary Seewer.
Visitation will be 2 PM to 8 PM Monday, May 26, 2014 at Newcomer (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, IN) with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association (PO Box 9067, Louisville, KY 40209) or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
