Gerald W. Gudkese, 73, of Memphis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Gerald was extremely talented and enjoyed restoring classic cars out in his garage. He loved spending time with his family and attending many of the local car shows.
Gerald was born on April 8, 1940 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Anthony P. and Helen (Grube) Gudkese. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Gudkese.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sue (Hammonds) Gudkese; daughter, Tracy Hart (Todd); granddaughters, Christa, Brianna, Elizabeth, Chelsey, Hannah Hart; grandsons, Tyler, Joshua, Michael Hart; close niece, Karen Creech (Mace); great-niece, Maria; and many good friends.
His visitation will be from 11 AM to 6 PM Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 11 AM. His Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM Monday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery in Sellersburg, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center (Norton Healthcare Pavilion, 315 E. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40202).
