Gerald Alan O'Keefe

Gerald Alan O'Keefe, 62, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was an active member of Northside Christian Church and an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. Gerald enjoyed attending Christian concerts and following the local band, The Louisville Crashers. He liked family gatherings, traveling and going on cruises. The most important thing in Gerald's life was his family, and he was also fond of his furry companions, Rocky, Thelma and Louise.

He was born on December 2, 1961 in Louisville, Kentucky to Robert and Mildred (Schmitt) O'Keefe. Along with his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Theresa and Sarah Fetter; and nephews, Tony Nero and Jason Brock.

Gerald is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Elaine (Fetter) O'Keefe; siblings, Linda Porter (John), Robert O'Keefe (Janet), Karen Laferty (Michael); sisters-in-law, Ellen Nero (Anthony), Maureen Brock (George); nieces and nephews that lovingly called him "Uncle Cheese," Riayn Dobson (Chris), Andrew Porter (Debbie), Jordan Laferty, Kyle Laferty (Anna), Kaitlyn Laferty, Ashley Reichert (Bryan), Andrew Nero, Dianne Sedwick (Jason), Cory Sawyer (Brittany), Jessica Demoss (Ben), Amy Sawyer; great-nieces and nephews, Will, Oliver, Anthony, Clara, Brandon, Amber, Trinity, Ethen, Lexi, Haley, Hayze, Cheyenne and Hannah.

A reception of family and friends will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of his life taking place at 5:00 p.m.
