Gerald Peter Curran "Jerry", 82, passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2022.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Judge Thomas A. Curran and Grace Curran, nee McClatchy, and grandparents Mr. & Mrs. John McClatchy and Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Curran, and his sister Molly Roach.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Patricia G. Tigue Curran; his son, Peter (Emily); grandchildren Kenny, Liam, Mairin, Aiden, and Isobel; his brother, Thomas (Tad) A. Curran; his life-long friend, Joe McCaffery; and many nephews and nieces.
He was a graduate of Archmere Academy, Wilmington, DE and of Mount Saint Mary's College, Emmetsburg, PA. He spent many years in outside sales with 3M. Jerry was a true warrior during the past four years, enduring disabilities from a stroke in 2018. He never complained and was a huge help to his "nurse" Pat. Jerry loved people and life. He enjoyed nothing more than talking with his friends. He truly loved listening to their stories and telling them of his many adventures. As a youth he enjoyed participating in many sports, such as swimming, golf, tennis, football, and basketball. Later in life he fell in love with cooking, reading, solving crossword puzzles, visiting the Shanty in Ocean City, MD, and watching movies. To quote James Joyce, "He lived, He loved, He laughed, He left."
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. on July 1, 2022 at Holy Trinity Church, 501 Cherrywood Rd 40207, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. A reception will follow in the church community space.
