George Wimp, Sr.

George A. Wimp, Sr., 76, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 surrounded by his family. George was a member of Faith Community Church in New Albany, Indiana, and he was retired from the US Air Force and Indiana Army Ammunition Plant.

George was born on September 20, 1934 in New Albany, Indiana to the late George W. and Cora "Sis" (Summers) Wimp.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Karen M. Lake of New Albany, Indiana, Elizabeth "Liz" Speth (Daniel) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Joseph M. Wimp (Alicia) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Deborah A. West of Indianapolis, Indiana, and George "Bud" Wimp, Jr.(Susan) of New Albany, Indiana; grandchildren, Jeremy, Cathy, Cindy, Jennifer, Jackie, Jessica, Richard, Robert and Bernice; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Cora, Summer, Angie, Jonathan, Julia, Brady, Brighton, Matthew and Veronica; and a brother, L. Leroy Wimp of Brinnon, Washington.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Saturday and 3 to 6 PM Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1 PM on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Newcomer with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
