George William McIntyre II, 68, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022. George was a member of the DeMolay International in his younger years. As a young man, George worked for Indiana Beach Amusement Park as their Water Ski Show Director and skilled performer. In the off season, he helped build and was in charge of maintenance for the Hoosier Hurricane Roller Coaster. He was a lifelong golfer and coached the Daleville High School Golf Team in Daleville, Indiana, for a number of years. He taught his sons to play golf and enjoyed golfing with them. George also had an avid interest in United States Auto Club (USAC) Sprint Car Racing. He would travel to many race tracks to share this love with his sons and wife. George will be remembered as a helpful mentor to his sons and other young athletes and a supportive husband to his wife.
He was born on September 18, 1953, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to the late George and Nancy (Harrison) McIntyre.
George is survived by his wife, Lisa Lock-McIntyre; sons, Geordi-Lee and Samuel McIntyre; siblings, Chuck and Diana McIntyre; and nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Cremation was chosen, and the family will host a Memorial Gathering from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at the NAFCEA Office (824 University Woods Dr., Suite 3, New Albany, IN 47150).
The family requests that contributions in George's memory be made to his children for the help with their future educational needs.
