George "Jerry" L. Hoskins

May 2, 1938 — February 19, 2025

New Albany, Indiana

George "Jerry" L. Hoskins, born on May 2, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry lived a life rich with purpose and joy, dedicating himself to his family and his work as the proud owner of Premier Tool.

Jerry's journey began with a strong educational foundation; he earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of West Virginia, which laid the groundwork for a successful career. His professional achievements, however, were only one part of the man he became.

In a celebration of love that spanned more than half a century, Jerry married the love of his life, Barbara Staser, on February 4, 1967. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with four wonderful children: Robin (Clifford) Krawiec, Anthony (Diane) Hoskins, Duane (Tina Michele) Hoskins, and Michael (Michele Lynn) Hoskins. Jerry was a hardworking and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Jerry enjoyed the simplicity of nature. Fishing, hunting, and growing tomatoes brought him joy. He was a true engineer. Jerry loved figuring out how everything "worked". He spent many hours working on cars, exploring engines and making wine. In later years he enjoyed spending time drinking wine with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Hoskins, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will carry his spirit forward. Also mourning his loss are his brothers, Jim (Phyllis) Hoskins and Charlie (Linda) Hoskins, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Lillian (TeBrake) Hoskins, and his brother, John (Susan) Hoskins. As we remember George "Jerry" L. Hoskins, we celebrate a life well-lived, a devoted family man, who leaves behind indelible memories in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of love and the lessons he imparted will forever guide and inspire his family and friends.
