George Patrick Hollkamp, 70, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012. Pat had served in the National Guard and was retired from the Ford Motor Company. A long-time farmer, he was co-owner of the Hollkamp Brothers Produce. A lifelong member of St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church in Sellersburg, Pat lived his life as an example of his deep faith. A loving and kindhearted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, he genuinely loved his family, friends, and neighbors.
Pat was born on March 15, 1942, in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late George J. and Anna (Kirchgessner) Hollkamp. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Hollkamp.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Ivy B. (Robinson) Hollkamp; daughters, Patty Bringle (Bob) and Barbara Renners (Tim); grandsons, Patrick and Daniel Bringle and Joseph Renners; brother, Eugene Hollkamp (Suzanne); sisters, Wilma Smith (George), Norma Hollkamp, Phyllis Burkholder (Bob), and Elizabeth Williams; sister-in-law, Mary Hollkamp; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong best friend, John Wieseka.
His Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Rosary Service at 4 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church in Sellersburg with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
