He was born on April 24, 1934. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Willie Rogers Gay, daughter, Sally Ann Keys Greer, grandson, LaRhuel S. Keys, grandson, LuShawn W. Crawford.
George is survived by his granddaughter, Tanisha M. (LaToya McDowell) Keys, son-in-law, Rhuel Philpot, 9 great grandchildren, Shawn Keys, Hezekiah Hayden, Nataysha Keys, Ednisha English, Leon'tae Johnson, Deon'tae Johnson, Arrianna Crawford, Arriyah Smith, Lushawn Crawford, Jr., 7 great great grandchildren, Kynslee Johnson, LaMiya Keys, Kamiya English, Ashtyn Gibson-Keys, King Keys and Ashawnee Keys.
