George Raymond Franke

George Raymond Franke, 88, of Louisville, KY passed away November 4, 2016. He was a member of the Local 64 Carpenter's Union. George served proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Princeton. He was born on June 12, 1928 to the late Jacob and Clara Arnold Franke.

He is also preceded in death by his wives, Ellen Cooper Franke and Mary Roy Franke and his brother, Don L. Franke.

George is survived by his daughter, Susan (Ron) Swift; sisters, Dot Irvin, Boots Byrne and Norma Byrne; grandchildren, Kim Kannapel, Steve Kannapel, Gary Kannapel, Jon Kannapel, Vincent Swift and George Swift and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY) from 12:30pm-4:30pm with a celebration of George's life beginning at 4:30pm.
