George Davis

George Davis, Sr., age 82 of Louisville, passed away December 31, 2013. He was born July 28, 1931 in Clayhole, Kentucky to the late Cleve and Maggie Campbell Davis. He was an Army Veteran that served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Harvest Church of God. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Chester, Randolph, Grover, James, Reed, Flint, and Ollie Davis; sisters, Ora, Sally and Edith.

Mr. Davis is survived by his sister, Hilda Anthony; former wife and friend, Verna Casey; several children, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-4 pm Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with service at 4pm, officiated by Pastor Adron E. Wheat. Burial will be 12:30pm Monday in the Davis Family Cemetery in Clayhole, Kentucky. In honor of Mr. Davis, memorials may be given to Harvest Church of God.
