George Bowe, Sr.

George G. Bowe, Sr., 81, passed away on April 18, 2012 with family at his side. George served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a long-time member of St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church in Sellersburg, Indiana and a life member of VFW Post 3281 in New Albany and American Legion Post 204 in Sellersburg.
George was born on February 11, 1931 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late George and Julia J. (Zimmerman) Bowe. He is also preceded in death by his son, Daral L. Bowe; sisters, Adelaide Renn and Elma Daugherty; and brothers, Kenneth, Dennis, Cyril, and Cletus Bowe.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Lenora P. (Davis) Bowe; son, George G. Bowe, Jr. (Doraveen); daughter, Beverly J. Bowe; sisters, Thelma Johnson and Valeria Shidler; daughter-in-law, Rochelle Bowe; grandchildren, Bruce, Dana, Aaron, Adam, Amy, and Andrea Bowe, Michael Calvert, and Kendra Ford; great grandchildren, Savona and Chessa Bowe and Emily Ford.
His Memorial Mass will be 10 AM on Monday, April 30, 2012 at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church. Newcomer Funeral Home – New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church (2605 St. Joe Road West, Sellersburg, IN 47172).
