George "Andy" Pfohl, 84, of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of New Albany, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Andy retired from General Electric after 38 years of service. He was a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28, and the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Ritter Council #1221.
Andy was born on September 15, 1929 in Uniontown, Kentucky to the late George H. and Addie (Thompson) Pfohl. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Blackman) Pfohl.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Nichols) Pfohl; children, Debra A. Bishop (Terry), Diana L. Spears (Steve), David A. Pfohl (Karen), William Crosier, Denise Rendell (Jim); sister, Molly Sparks; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 1 PM to 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place on Thursday at 10 AM in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the Parkinson's Foundation.
