Gayle Coleman Sallee

November 26, 1948 — January 29, 2021

Gayle Coleman Sallee, 72, passed away on January 29, 2021 after battling with Dementia for many years.

He was born November 26, 1948 to the late Nellie Frances Breedon Sallee and Clarence Coleman Sallee. He grew up in Lexington, KY where he attended Bryan Station High School and University of Kentucky. Gayle was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. He and his late wife, Ann, owned and operated Kremer's Smoke Shoppe in Louisville, KY for many years and he never met a stranger. He loved telling jokes and socializing. Gayle's grandchildren were the light of his life.

Gayle is preceded in death by his late wife Ann Sallee and survived by his children, Alicia (Michael), Katie, and Matthew (Sarah); his beloved and cherished grandchildren, Evan Aubrey, Taylor, Lucy, and Wyatt Sallee; his siblings, Janet Harvey, Diane Jones, and Tracey Cash (Rick); and many nieces and nephews.

His life will be celebrated in a funeral ceremony at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive), on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Noon. Visitation will be prior, beginning at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Friends are invited to wear their favorite University of Kentucky apparel to the services. A private burial will be on Friday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, KY.
