Gayle Aubrey

February 11, 1941 — April 6, 2025

Scottsburg, Indiana

Gayle Aubrey, 84, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Gayle lived a life marked by dedication to family, and an unmistakable outspoken spirit. Family was at the heart of Gayle's world.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, David Price (Jessica), Richard Price, and Lee Dennison; grandchildren, Greg Price (Lacey), Garrett Price (Macey), Scott Price, Courtney Weck (Steven), Jonathan Price, Mitchell Dennison, Jordan Blair (Kurt), and Mattie Dennison; and 15 great-grandchildren. Gayle also held a special place in her heart for her nieces, Karen Sweazy and Samantha Stebbins (Bill).

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Gus and Anna Irene Aubrey; sister, Joyce Sweazy; and daughter-in-law, Janell Price.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life--sharing breakfast at Angie's Restaurant, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcat Basketball team, watching horse racing, and spending cherished time with family. A devoted pet lover, Gayle's compassion extended to all creatures great and small. One of Gayle's most endearing traditions was calling family members to sing "Happy Birthday", a gesture that brought smiles year after year. As Gayle often said: "Always remember that she loves you--a bushel and a peck!"

An intimate family gathering will take place to honor Gayle's life.
