Gary Wheat

Gary Wheat, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Gary was a kind and loving man, he loved playing with his grandchildren and riding his motorcycle. He was always there when you needed help and guided everyone through life's biggest obstacles. Gary always led by example and finished every project he ever started. He truly cared about every person he met and had a strong moral compass. Gary was extremely meticulous in every aspect of his life. He was retired from UPS as a Telecom Manager and also worked for Bellsouth. He was truly loved by all.


He was born on June 17, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jack and Leona (Fults) Wheat. He is preceded in death by his Father, Jack Wheat and Mother, Leona Ethel Wheat.

Gary is survived by his loving Wife of 35 years, Rhonda Wheat; Children, Jacob Wheat, Jessica (Nick) Smith, and Jason (Jerusha) Caple; Grandchildren, Lynoxx Smith, Miranda Smith, Kailey Smith, Alexander Caple, Logan Caple, and Roman Caple; Brothers, Dennis Wheat and Kenny (Janet) Wheat; Mother-In-Law, Catherine Lawson; Brother-In-Law, Mark Lawson, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 pm on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
