Gary Walther, 69, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Gary enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, playing in the backyard with his grandchildren, IU Basketball and spending time with family and friends.
He was born on March 19, 1954 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Paul Walther and Doris Brewer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Edith and William Brewer.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Janice Walther; children, Sara (Arron) Sparks and Elliott Walther; grandchildren, Jaxon and Molly; siblings, Shelley (Louis) Ferrazzi, David (Rebecca) Grant, and Donnie (Luanne) Grant; sisters-in-law, Marilyn McNulty and Becky Arthur; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the funeral home.
The family requests that contributions in Gary's memory be made to St. Jude or Samaritan Purse.
