Gary Skaggs, 68, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020. He was born on April 15, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to Denver Skaggs and Jettie White. He was a member of Gracepointe Baptist Church and his family finds comfort in knowing that he is walking the streets of heaven with his Lord and Savior. He was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served with the United States Army. He retired from Iron Workers Local 70. Gary will be remembered for being a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. Those who knew Gary, knew him as the one who would always light up the room with his compassion and laughter.

He is preceded in death by his father, Denver Skaggs and a brother, Ronald L. White

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 7 years, Nancy Skaggs; his mother, Jettie White; son, Daniel Skaggs; step-sons Nathan White, Ben (Carla) Maynard, Jeremy Gibson; a grandson, Daniel Skaggs, Jr.; siblings, Cathy (Bob) Lane, Steven Skaggs, Deanna Skaggs and Kim Skaggs; his beloved dog, PJ; and a host of extended family members.

A service to celebrate Gary's life will take place at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions- Southwest Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. The family will accept guests for visitation at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00-4:00 pm. Gary will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central on June 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
