Gary R. Craddock, 64, devoted husband and father, of Memphis, passed away on November 22, 2011 at his home. He was a man of faith who truly cared for all of God's creation, especially the pets he loved and cared for. Gary was very proud of his military career, where he retired as an officer of the U.S. Army.
Gary was born on December 11, 1946 in Bowling Green, KY to Alma F. (Wilson) and the late Cecil Craddock. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Gentry.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Melanie A. (Schuster) Craddock; children, Sven Craddock of Memphis, Kirsten Craddock-Szalkiewicz (Michael) of Rutherford, NJ; siblings, Hugh Craddock (Jeannie) Corona, CA, Jean Simpson (Terry) Franklin, TN, James Craddock (Carol) Bowling Green; uncle, Hubert Craddock (Alene) of Scottsville, KY, aunt, Eula Hawkins of Elizabethtown, KY; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial Visitation will be 10 AM to 11 AM on Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. Michael's Catholic Church (101 St. Michael Drive, Charlestown, IN). His Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM on Monday at the church followed by military honors and burial in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gary's memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Humane Society of the United States.
