Gary Leigh Parrish

Gary Leigh Parrish of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday at home surrounded by his wife and sons. Gary is survived by his wife Georgia "Kitsy" Parrish; 2 Sons, Neil and Ross; Daughter in Laws, Heidi and Heather, and 5 grandchildren; Henry, Graham, June, Astrid and Camille. 

Gary grew up with his 12 siblings on Hubbards Lane in Saint Mathews. He is proceeded in death by his parents Mildred and Lawrence Parrish and his siblings Jimmy Parrish, Bobby Parrish, Dorothy Haan, and Jean Grant. He is survived by siblings Alan Parrish, Glenn Ann Pinchbeck, Mary Garry, Margie Butler, Kevin Parrish, Karen Yeager, Keith Parrish, and Paul Parrish. 

A builder of both buildings and people, he was a life-long learner, a tireless and vocationally courageous worker, and lover of nature and music. Gary was a consummate mentor, unflappable leader, and an incredible husband, father and, his favorite role, grandfather. He always showed up. For big or small, for assistance or support, for his family and friends, he was always there for those he loved, every time. He will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A memorial service will take place at 6 pm that evening at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's memory may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or the charity of your choice.
