**In Loving Memory of Gary Mahan**
Gary D. Mahan, a cherished soul from Louisville, Kentucky, left this world on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the age of 55. His spirit and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Gary was a devoted husband, father, papaw, brother, son, and friend. He dedicated 16 years of his life to serving at Walmart where his commitment and genuine care touched many. Additionally, he brought joy and kindness to the halls of Dixie Elementary as a custodian, earning the affection of countless children.
In his free time, Gary found immense joy in the laughter and company of his grandchildren. His heart sang to the tunes of country music, and he savored moments with friends over shots of whiskey. A passionate NASCAR fan, Gary reveled in the excitement of the races and cherished visits to the Kentucky Renaissance Fair, and anywhere he went he would light up while sharing stories about his beloved wife, children and grandchildren.
Born on May 27, 1969, in Louisville to Raymond and Elva Jean Mahan, Gary’s warmth was deeply felt by all who crossed his path. He is predeceased by his mother, Elva Jean Mahan, his biological mother, Mag Nola Jaggers, and his stepmother, Leah Mahan.
Gary’s legacy continues through his devoted wife of 33 years, Kimberly Mahan, and their loving family: father Raymond (Sue) Mahan; daughter Amanda (Joshua) Haeberlin; son Lukas Mahan; granddaughters Izzabella and Kinzley Haeberlin; grandsons Izaiah and Ezra Haeberlin. He is also survived by his beloved sisters Teresa Byers, Shirley (Jim) Johnston, Mistie (Chris) Bush, Sonya Royse, Belinda Peace; brother Bobby McCorkle; sister-in-law Laura (Jack) Summers; cousin Valerie (Jimmy) Kane; and a host of nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
In honor of Gary’s spirit and commitment to family, the family kindly requests contributions to be made in his memory to Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT) of Louisville, as his youngest grandson, Ezra, recently faced a diagnosis of autism.
