Gary Eugene Elliott

Gary Eugene Elliott, 80, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Gary was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his family, especially to Niagara Falls in Canada and Holiday World. Gary loved squirrel hunting and had a passion for knowing his heritage by creating his family tree.

He was born on July 31, 1942, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Herschel Elliott and Katherine (Hess) Elliott. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Terry, Merle, Wayne, Clyde, and Larry Elliott; sister, Brenda Elliott; and granddaughter; Halle Elliott.

Gary is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 56 years, Shirley Elliott; son, Rob Elliott; daughter, Donna Porch; brother, Roger Elliott; and grandchildren, Evan Elliott and Lyndsie Porch.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow in accordance with Gary's wishes.
