Gary Dodson, 68, of La Grange, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
Gary was a proud veteran of The United States Army. He was retired from Louisville Metro Corrections, and served on the board for 13 years as a trustee and lodge manager of F.O.P. Louisville Corrections Lodge #77. Gary was a 1971 graduate of Durrett High School. Gary loved the Lord, his family, many friends, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and his greatest blessing.
Gary was born on January 13, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his birth mother, Mary Catherine Dodson, grandparents, Oder and May Workman Neat, brother, Jerry Dodson, step-sister, Betty Wiley, and nephew, Derrick Dodson.
Gary is survived by his loving wife (Princess) of 48 years, Brenda Dodson, daughter, Leslie Wills (Robert), son, Brian Dodson (Amanda), bonus daughter, Dottie Verwest (Dan), brother, Larry Dodson (Patty), grandchildren, Clayton Dodson, Kaylynn Wills, Easton Dodson, and Brooklynn Wills, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 7, 2021 with a F.O.P. Service at 7:00, and from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at LaGrange Assembly of God, (2109 KY Hwy 146). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at the church, with burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Gary 's memory be made to F.O.P. Lodge 77 Coat-A-Kid (3556 Taylor Blvd Louisville, KY 40215).
