Garrie Marie (Curry) McCowan, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023. She was a longtime member of the Salvation Army.
She was born on August 16, 1942 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Arthur and Lorraine Curry. In addition to her parents, Garrie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry McCowan; granddaughter, Elizabeth McCormick; and four brothers.
Garrie is survived by her daughter, Cynthia McCormick-Hall (Elmer); grandsons, Mark McCormick, Jerry McCormick; and many nieces and nephews.
A reception of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Reception (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
