Garland "Sonny" Franklin Forrest, Jr. , 76, of Simpsonville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 25, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Garland and Alberta (Fischer) Forrest. He is also preceded in death by his wife Linda Joe (Roberts) Forrest.
Sonny enjoyed fishing, playing guitar every Wednesday with his buddies, flying kites, building model airplanes and spending time with his family.
Sonny is survived by his daughter, Mary Dennise Misner (Eddie), son, Garland "Sonny" Franklin Forrest, III (Suzane), four grandsons, Andrew Misner (Megan), Anthony Misner, Daniel, Thomas, five great-grandchildren Eli, Allyson, Finn, Skylee, Maylee and siblings Sharon, David (Alice), Loraine, Elaine and Eddie George (Kim). He is also survived by host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A gathering will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
