Gail Lee Miller Heavrin

Gail Lee Miller Heavrin, 69 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from complications of ALS.  She retired from Jewish Hospital with 44 years of service where she was a clinical laboratory scientist and taught many people in the chemistry lab.

Gail was born on June 10, 1955 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  She grew up in Mayfield, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Evelyn Miller.   She was a graduate of Mayfield High School, class of 1973 where she was Salutatorian of her class.  She was first chair clarinet for 3 years in the Mayfield High School Band.  She graduated from David Lipscomb College, class of 1977 in Nashville, Tennessee.  She only received one C in her life and that was in Volleyball in College.  Gail was a member of Louisville Ski Club and attended Westport Road Church of Christ. Her interests included reading, playing cards, entertaining, puzzles, LSC bowling, boating and lake life at Rough River Lake.  Gail's favorite colors were royal blue and purple.  She was a big Kentucky Wildcats fan.  

Gail is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Brian Christopher Heavrin; sisters, Gloria Beadles (Dennis) and Glenda Miller; brother, Gary Miller (Janie); also many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews;  and many co-workers and friends whom she thought of as family.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6pm on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243, and on Monday, July 8th from 9:30am to 11am.  A celebration of Gail's life will follow visitation on Monday at 11am.  Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
