Gail Ann Cecil

Gail Ann Cecil, 67, passed away on February 18, 2023. She was a faithful member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, formerly St. Clement Catholic Church where she served in many volunteer roles. Gail enjoyed quilting in her quilting group as well as at home, making hand made items for her loved ones. She was known as an incredible cook and will be remembered for treating her family and friends to her delicious recipes; showing her love for them through cooking. Gail's grandchildren were the light that shone in her heart. Caring for and spoiling her adoring grandchildren brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joy Buckman.

Gail leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 43 years, Don Cecil; children, Audrey (Elizabeth) Cecil and Christopher Cecil; grandchildren, Brianne Cecil, Alice Cecil and Sonny Cecil, sister, Susan (Rick) Tapp; brother, Robert (Vicki) Buckman; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Cecil and Ben (Jan) Cecil; sisters-in-law, Brenda Cecil and Nancy Myrick and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 1pm-8pm. A celebration of Gail's life will be Monday, February 27, 2023, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5431 Johnsontown Road, Louisville, KY, 40272, beginning at 11am.

Gail will be laid to rest at Bethany Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.
