Frieda (Potzler) Klein, 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 06, 2013 at Mercy -Providence Retirement Home. She was employed for many years, at a job she loved, at Providence Retirement Home. Frieda was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church and also served many years as both an officer and a member of the church's Legion of Mary Society. Her favorite hobbies were reading, needlepoint and playing cards where she made many lifelong friends.
Frieda was born on October 9, 1915 in Clark County Indiana to the late Emil and Barbara (Kraemer) Potzler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Klein, Sr., sisters, Catherine Brian, Laverne Forree and Mary Lou Potzler and her brothers, Urban, Leonard and Walter Potzler.
She is survived by her children, Janice Klein of Indianapolis, Angela Nolan (Ronald) and Vincent Klein, Jr, (Mary) both of New Albany; grandchildren, Matthew Nolan (Rachel), Nicholas Nolan (Kelly), Emily D'Souza (Katan), Michael Klein, Gregg Nolan and fiancé, Megan Fairfield. She was always very excited to see her 3 great grandchildren, Natalie Nolan, Samuel Nolan and Maya D'Souza.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM Friday, February 8, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday at the church. A Rosary Prayer Service will be held at 3 PM Friday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany) with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul or In Heaven's Eyes (c/o Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany).
