With a remarkable career spanning over 35 years, Fred made significant contributions to the University of Louisville OBGYN Laboratory, where his expertise and commitment were greatly valued. His professionalism, work ethic, warmth, and generosity, earned him admiration and dear friendships from his colleagues, many of which were from other countries.

Fred had many passions throughout his life, and he pursued them with great zeal. An avid sports enthusiast, he was particularly devoted to the U of L Cardinals. His zest for life was also expressed through his love for drag racing, table tennis, golfing, and fishing, that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with friends and family.

Fred was beloved, leaving behind step-children T. Craig Tipton and Kimberly R. Tipton, who cherished him dearly. He is also survived by his brother, David R. (Vita) Carman. As a proud grandfather, Fred took great pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren: Thomas Clayton (Destinee) Tipton, Riley Christian Tipton, Patrick Emerson Tipton, Ryan Christopher (Teresa) Trowbridge, and Brandon Philip Trowbridge. He also loved his great-grandchildren: Turner, Hayden, Weston, Meli, Leo, and Nico, who brought him immense happiness in his later years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Carman Sr. and Mary Maxine McCoy Carman, and his beloved wife, Virginia Carman. His legacy lives on in the stories and memories shared by those whose lives he touched.
