Franklin "Sonny" Russell

Franklin "Sonny" Russell, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. 

He was born on December 22, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Howard and Virginia (Hendren) Mocherman. 

Sonny was a jack of all trades, he enjoyed working on cars and taking care of his yard. 

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bonnie Russell, two daughters, Bonita Sue Benningfield (Phillip), Karen Blessing-Hardy; grandchildren, Lacey Blessing, Amanda Blessing, Adrielle Blessing, Jason Benningfield, Joshua Benningfield; five great-grandchildren, Riley Rose, Easton Rose, Kayden Mengedoht, Henny Blessing and Kelly Benningfield. He is also survived by his sisters, Florence Block and Margie Mocherman. 

Per Sonny's wishes cremation was chosen and services will be private.
