Frank Bartee, Sr., 73, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013. He was born March 4, 1940, in Columbus, Mississippi to the late Rosie and Mose Bartee, Sr. In 1968 he located to Louisville, KY where his family joined shortly after he confessed hope in Christ at Miracle Temple of Deliverance. He was a master concrete finisher for over 40 years. He enjoyed making you laugh, spending time with his family and most of all he was an excellent fisherman and gardner which he loved to do.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents Rosie and Mose Bartee, Sr., his wife of 53 years Avery Bartee; his daughter, Lisa Bartee; sister, Lucille Robinson and his brothers, Mose Bartee, Jr., Eddie James Bartee and Charles Bartee.
He leaves behind his sons, Frank, Jr. (Gwendolyn), Andre, Jerry (Neva), Ricky and James (Angela) Bartee; daughters, Jacqueline Brown and Yolonda Bartee; sisters, Ann Laura Taylor, Katie Evans, Edith Henderson, Mattie (Robbie) Keeton and Lettie "Will" Bartee; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very loving friend Alice Boyd.
Visitation is Saturday, August 31, from 11am-1pm at Miracle Temple of Deliverance, 2208 Dixie Highway with the funeral service at 1pm.
Burial will follow at Green Meadows Cemetery
