Frances Carter Jordan Vance, age 101, died quietly on May 11th at Springhurst Pines.
She was a very active member of Watkins United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and gave many volunteer hours.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B.Vance and a brother, John Carter.
Survivors include her daughter Joy Johnson(Jim) of Calfornia, her son Paul D. Jordan(Joyce), her brother, David Carter (Juanita), one grandchild, Jennifer, two great-grandchildren, Tarah and Jonathan Kalinen, and two nieces and nephews, Ann Carter, Jerry Carter Rodman, Indiana, Daniel Carter of Florida and Michael of Texas and Terry Carter; sister-in-law, Marie Carter, Indiana.
Our special thanks to the staff of the North Wing at Springhurst for their care and support and a special thanks to Shirley Davis, the dearest roommate anyone could ever have.
Funeral service will be held at 1 PM Sat. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, with burial to follow at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 PM.
Memorial gifts may be given to Watkins Church, 9800 Westport Road, 40241.
