Frances Tate

June 20, 1920 — December 6, 2012

Tate, Frances, 92, stepped into the arms of her Savior and Lord on December 6, 2012 at Oaklawn Nursing Center in Louisville. She was a long time resident of Alexander City, AL and an active member of 1st United Methodist Church before making her home in Louisville 7 years ago.

Miss Frances or Mama Tate as many called her was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all. Never without a smile and an encouraging word, her positive attitude was contagious and worth catching.

She was born June 20, 1920 in Birmingham, AL to the late Fred and Sue Scheuing. She joins her late husband Forrest 0. Tate and her son, Forrest Tate Jr in Heaven. She is survived by her daughter, Trish Tate Roberts and son-in-law Eddy, daughter-in-law Janice Tate; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Tate Wilkins (Eric), Forrest Tate III, Jas Roberts (Bethany), Scott Roberts (fiance Kathy Hilimire); great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ainsley, Ellery, Ian Roberts and Tate Wilkins.

Visitation: 4-6 Monday, December 10, Memorial Service 6 pm, Southeast Christian Church, Fireside Room.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Oaklawn for their loving care.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Baptist East Hospital Foundation or Hosparus of Louisville.
