Frances L. Browne, age 94, died peacefully on Mother's Day, May 12, 2013 at The Forum at Brookside with her family at her side. She was born on August 31, 1918 in Hunnewell, Missouri, and received her nurses training in St. Louis at St. John's Hospital. She married Thomas P. Browne in December of 1942, while he was serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. She raised her family and worked intermittently in St. Louis, Houston, TX., Louisville, KY., and Huntsville, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eula (Spencer) Leake; her brother, Charles; her sister Evelyn Leake; and her husband Thomas.
Mrs. Browne is survived by her sons, Philip T. Browne, MD (Brenda) of Louisville; Richard F. Browne (Peggy) of Atlanta, GA; and her daughter Mary Jeanine Browne-Self (David) of Dunnellon, FL. Likewise she is survived by ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen, and her ashes will be interred in Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Huntsville, AL. A memorial ceremony will be held at The Forum at Brookside at 3pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Frances was a Roman Catholic, most recently a member of St. Patrick's Parish. Any donations may be directed to the Catholic Charity of your choice.
