Forest D. "Shorty" Snyder, Jr., 53, of Greenville passed away on May 14, 2012. A 1978 graduate of Bishop David High School in Louisville, Forest was co-owner of Professional Builders, Inc., for 26 years and owner of Power Built Construction. He was a long-time member of the Home Builders Association of Louisville. A member of St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church, his love for his parish family is revealed by one of the most recent testimonies to his skill and creativity with the complete interior renovation of the church of which the parish community is very proud. With quick wit and a charming smile, he was a friend to all.
Forest was born on November 23, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Forest D., Sr., and Barbara R. (Drake) Snyder. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra D. Snyder.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Cynthia C. "Cindy" (Strange) Snyder; sons, Jordan and Evan Snyder; sisters, Barbara Snyder, Donna Pierce (Ray), Terrie Korte (Kevin); brothers, Daniel Snyder (Janice) and David Snyder; sister- and brother-in-law, Vicky Daugherty (Jamie); father-in-law, Creal Strange; many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
His Visitation will be 12 to 6 PM Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church (7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
To continue his legacy of church building renovation, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church for building and grounds improvement.
