Fairlee Ford, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Sis. Fairlee Ford united with Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Henry M. Humphrey, Sr. on September 15, 1976. She remained a faithful member under the leadership of Dr. Henry M. Humphrey, Jr. and current pastor, Dr. Kenneth W. Johnson, Sr.
She was always present in worship services until her health began to fail. Even in failing health, she still supported the church financially.
She was a member of Shiloh's Gospel Chorus, Sanctuary Choir. One of her favorite songs to lead was, I'm Coming Up the Rough Side of the Mountain. I'm Doing My Best to Make It In. Fairlee was also a member of Shiloh's Missionary Society when it was active.
Fairlee also loved to model. She modeled in several fashion shows hosted by Shiloh and was a member of BG and Me Modeling. Always ready to strut the walkways.
She was born on August 9, 1936 in Macon, Georgia to Garfield and Sally Franks. She is preceded in death by her father, Garfield Franks, and mother, Sally Franks.
Fairlee is survived by her loving family, children, Mary (Isiah) Moore, Ray Spencer (Wilma) Williams, III, Ernestine Pratt, Sharon White, Deborah White, Anthony White, Jerome White; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1349 Catalpa Street. A Celebration of her life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, at Shiloh Baptist Church with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
