Everett "Tommy" Tyler, Jr.

Everett "Tommy" Tyler, Jr., 59, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. He was an avid IU basketball fan and an extremely talented mechanic.
Tommy was born on July 22, 1954 in New Albany, Indiana to Everett T. Tyler, Sr. and the late Dorothy L. (Jones) Tyler. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Deirdre M. (Geraghty) Tyler.
Along with his father, he is survived by his son, Tommy Ray Tyler; step-daughter, Mercedes N. Meek; siblings, Cathy Fein (Donnie), Steven Tyler (Gina), James Tyler (Shelley); and many good friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be from 12 to 4 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral Service taking place at 4 PM. Cremation will follow according to Tommy's wishes.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Hosparus – the Hospice Community of Southern Indiana (624 E. Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
